The Baldridge Family — Inspiration for All Alumni
Anne Baldridge '80 was the type of alumna that every university cherishes. Hailing from several generations of Olivetians, Anne had an affinity for ONU that began long before she stepped foot on campus. As a student, she took full advantage of the Olivet experience, and then became an ardent supporter of the University after she graduated. She often advocated the life-changing impact of the Olivet experience and frequently introduced prospective students to Olivet by bringing them to the campus for visits.
Anne's mother, Lucille '40, passed away in early 2007. At the time, Anne was fighting a battle with cancer. She began to discuss estate plans with her father, Dale '49. Together they funded the Baldridge Family Scholarship with a significant Bequest to the Olivet Nazarene University Foundation.
Anne and her father are no longer with us. An Olivet flag was flown at Anne's funeral, and "Alma Mater Olivet" was sung. While Olivet greatly misses one of its most dedicated alumni, her family's legacy is cemented through their Olivet investment. They have helped ensure that the same, life-changing Olivet experience that so heavily influenced their lives will be made available to worthy students for generations to come.
